Nobody should struggle through cancer treatment alone. Will you help?

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO FUND MORE PROSTATE CANCER SPECIALIST NURSES SO MORE MEN IN AUSTRALIA CAN BENEFIT FROM THEIR VITAL SUPPORT AND CARE.

Three years ago we introduced a new national program to help those affected by prostate cancer: The Prostate Cancer Specialist Nursing Service. Today, the program funds 27 Specialist Nurses in hospitals around Australia. But we need more.

More than 20,000 Australian men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year and too many of these men have been missing out on the invaluable support of a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse.

Paul Dolan is the one in nine Australian husbands, fathers and grandfathers who are facing prostate cancer treatment in their lifetime. Paul experienced depression and ‘treatment regret’ after undergoing radical surgery to remove his prostate, following his prostate cancer diagnosis at age 62. But when Paul was referred to a Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, Jen Siemsen, his outlook changed. Jen helped Paul come to terms with his decision by providing ongoing care, reassurance and a range of practical options to help Paul cope with his side effects.

The more Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses we can fund, the more patients they can help. Your kind donation will help to double the number of nurses who provide invaluable support, information and care to men with prostate cancer.
